FoR the Happy Couple

Frames of Reference are particularly popular for weddings, and understandably so. This piece was commissioned by a bridesmaid who wanted to gift something particularly special to her dearest friends as they married.

This work focused upon the idea of two people’s stories coming together to form one, greater and even more spectacular tale.

The bride and groom are represented individually by the two books in the bottom corners as they bulge with materials of significance from their respective lives. With a Scottish groom and an English bride, these pages then twist and furl up into a bouquet of carefully crafted thistles and roses; constructed from the artefacts of their shared life together.
